Corruption.
When did corruption become the order of the day? When do we start enjoying corruption to the extent that it became a part of us? when and why do our offsprings see corruption as the best path to the thread to achieve success, respect, and fame, when did the world turn against the honest and just, just to celebrate the corrupt, the society now appreciates the funding, opinions, and advice made by the corrupt.
It is so painful to hear the young, teenager, and the old talk about corruption, and also expressing their delight in it making it the status quo to go therein, parents now do not warn or go against their offspring when engaging in corrupt practices, they are okay and happy so far good things are done for them, most especially if it’s catering for their basic needs, when did we get this all wrong? why do we derive pleasure in embezzling public funds just for our own personal use not caring about what goes wrong with the masses, the masses feelings are no longer a top priority to a top official of the government, I keep asking myself where did we all get it wrong?
The fact that this happens to be an overall happening “Worldwide”, all countries in the world practice corruption one way or the other, for some it isn’t evident that it will destroy or disrupt their government, and for some it is the other way round, there should be a penalty enforced on whoever is found guilty of been corrupt, a lot of African countries wallow in this state of corruption infact it has become the den of thieves, the leaders are so corrupt and they disregard the masses, they suck out funds like a leach by allocating projects that are not necessary just for their personal benefits, they employ their looter friends and family to fill up different space of the government to help carry and transfer stolen funds just like a lorry transferring timber to the town, they collaborate with foreign countries, setting up different companies in ghost names just to keep their funds safe in their various accounts, they allocate different trips overseas to enjoy funds with family and friends, the children of looters and corrupt personnel and officials enjoy the best life treatments, good and quality education outside the country they govern or preside.
where did we go wrong, why has it grown to this point, why have we become a money beast, we are always there to suck out money like blood in the vampire diaries, sometimes it feels as if this money suckers should be one way or the other stoned till they pass out, they set up policies they know the masses can’t withstand or probably afford, they got their belly protruding like a round ball consuming what they think we’ll be enough to take them to the afterlife, access to exclusive treatments are the order of the day. They sleep and snore without the thought of the masses at heart, their beds are comfortable and most times expensive enough to train up to three kids of the poor masses academically, they glitter like they came from diamond generation, where did all go wrong?
I used to believe the government is basically of the people, for the people, and by the people, but now it is of myself, for myself, and by myself. Then I keep thinking out loud and saying to myself, we voted them in, we brought them to power, without us and our votes they won’t be where they are, but then I remembered this African adage, if you want to catch a monkey, you must definitely behave like a monkey. Oh yes, that was what they did, they showed their loving, respectful, kind faces and words just to lure us to get them into power, they try to maintain such faces most time between one or two years of being in power, but after then they go back to the beast faces they possess, this brings us to the fact that human is so cunningly powerful when they need to get something of benefit from whoever it is.
Forward ever, backward never, this is what we pray for as a country in any part of the world, it is a pity the reverse has been the case for most countries, African countries to be specific. They derive joy in sending innocent untried lives to jail over meaningless things but then they enjoy luxury after having half or quarter of the countries revenues to themselves, they put in the judges to preside over their cases, they carry out replacements for their discharge and freedom placing innocent lives in line. Can this just end someday? how do we test and try those that plan to come into power? can we just have a law passed stating if found guilty of corruption warrants the death penalty? Just thinking maybe this will enable them to sit tight.
Corruption, when where your letters formed and incorporated into the dictionary when then did you enter the lives of men and become the order of the day? people that have you all over them tend to happy with what you giving them, they eat three square meals and most times four to five square meals comfortably a day when the masses haven’t had one or two comfortably, I guess you have no such feelings as human empathy, but then there are no two ways to it, we all must come together to put an end to your reign in the lives of men, we need men of their words, value and trustworthy in place of power.
Beware your days are numbered and a new generation is rising, the cloud is forming and ready to unleash its rain of destruction on your disciples.
